On Thursday, May 5, 7–9 pm, the Sierra Club Southeast Michigan Group presents: The Flint Water Crisis. The speaker will be Jim Ananich, Michigan State Senate Minority Leader, District 27 (Flint).
Sen. Ananich, who lives in Flint and has used the Flint public water supply himself, will speak about the Flint water crisis, including a discussion of the roles of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (EQ) and the US EPA in this disaster. Since there are now criminal charges in process and everything about the way this crisis was created and handled by the state government is sure to be an issue in the fall election, this is going to be a very interesting meeting.
The venue is the Elks Lodge, 2401 E. 4th St., Royal Oak, MI (at corner of 4th St. & SB I-75 Service Drive, South of 11 Mile Rd.).
The meeting is open to the public; any interested person can attend.
The detailed schedule is: 6:30-7:00 Snacks, socializing; 7:00-7:10 Announcements; 7:10 Presentation and questions from the audience.
